Misty Alexandre and Jared Epp Present to Saskatoon Construction Association

The Saskatoon Construction Association offers its members a number of professional development courses. As part of this program, Jared Epp and Misty Alexandre will co-present a Construction Law course on The Saskatchewan Builders’ Lien Act on May 9.

This session is an overview of the purpose and function of the Saskatchewan Builder’s Liens Act, including a discussion of the types of construction activity which create lien rights, the process and procedure of registering a lien claim, enforcement of lien claims, the proper administration of holdbacks and a review of trust provisions arising under the Act. This session also includes a discussion of some of the most recent lien cases to come before the Courts in Saskatchewan and across Canada.

Anderson and Steele Present at SRPA Convention

The Saskatchewan Regional Parks Association (SRPA) represents the many and diverse regional parks throughout Saskatchewan.  Each year the SRPA holds conventions for the purpose of education and networking for the delegates.

This year at the convention held in Saskatoon on April 7th, Kim Anderson, Q.C. and James Steele will be offering legal and practical advice on Regional Park seasonal campsites and tenancies.

 

 

Pereira’s Insurance Law Article Published in The Advocate

Jennifer Pereira’s article titled, “Disclosure of Material Facts in Insurance Applications  – a Review of Zheng v. John Galon Services Ltd.” appears in the March 2017 issue of The Saskatchewan Advocate.

In the article Jennifer considers the distinction between conduct which represents a breach of a policy condition, and conduct which causes a loss to fall outside the insured risk.
