Pereira’s Insurance Law Article Published in The Advocate

Jennifer Pereira’s article titled, “Disclosure of Material Facts in Insurance Applications  – a Review of Zheng v. John Galon Services Ltd.” appears in the March 2017 issue of The Saskatchewan Advocate.

In the article Jennifer considers the distinction between conduct which represents a breach of a policy condition, and conduct which causes a loss to fall outside the insured risk.

 

Sean Sinclair Presents “Privacy and the Media” at CBA Mid-Winter Meeting

The annual Mid-Winter Meeting of the CBA was held in Saskatoon February 2nd and 3rd, 2017.

This event is the premier two-day legal conference designed especially for Saskatchewan members. Rotating each February between Regina and Saskatoon, this event offers well-rounded professional development, networking, special events and much more. On Thursday, February 2nd Sean Sinclair presented “Privacy and the Media”.

Christopher J Donald, Q.C.

On December 16, 2016 Attorney General of Saskatchewan Gordon Wyant announced this year’s honourary Queen’s Counsel recipients for Saskatchewan.  Robertson Stromberg is pleased to announce that Christopher J. Donald is among the select lawyers honoured for their exemplary merit and contribution to the legal profession and general community.

Queen’s Counsel appointments are based on recommendations from a selection committee consisting of Saskatchewan’s Minister of Justice and Attorney General, the Chief Justice of the Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan or the Chief Justice of the Court of Queen’s Bench and the past presidents of the Saskatchewan branch of the Canadian Bar Association and the Law Society of Saskatchewan.

“I am pleased to recognize the exceptional contributions and dedication of these recipients,” Justice Minister and Attorney General Gordon Wyant said.  “These individuals have made significant contributions to the legal profession and have demonstrated a commitment to public service.”

RS Supports Saskatoon Secret Santa

Robertson Stromberg is pleased to help Saskatoon Secret Santa provide food and toys to local families.  Tonight volunteers from the firm will join others from the community to prepare the hampers for distribution.

The Secret Santa Foundation is a federally registered charity with a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of community-minded citizens, including Robertson Stromberg’s Les Prosser who has energetically supported Secret Santa for many years.
